About Miranda Bevis
I am a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) accredited psychodynamic counsellor, a UKRC registered independent counsellor, and an Accredited Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Practitioner.
I work as a Senior Counsellor at the Somerset Counselling Centre in Taunton, Somerset, (www.scctaunton.org.uk ) and also in private practice. My work is with adults either on an open ended basis, or for short term contracts.
I also teach Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) courses, and teach Yoga on a one to one basis.
My qualifications include a BSc in Physiology from the University of Manchester and a Medical Degree (MB BS) from St Bartholomew’s Hospital. While working part-time as a GP, I gained a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, and became a BACP accredited counsellor in 2005. In 2001, I gave up medicine to concentrate on counselling, and to further my studies into Yoga. I became a British Wheel of Yoga Teacher in 2005. I completed my EMDR training in 2006, and achieved accreditation with the EMDR UK Association in 2009.
I have completed a course run by Bangor University in teaching the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course.
